General local government elections in British Columbia are held every three years. Electors in the City of Parksville vote to elect a Mayor, six Councillors and two School District #69 (Qualicum) Trustees. The City of Parksville Municipal Council is comprised of a Mayor and six Councillors each elected for a three-year term.
